Dr. Maria C. Galdiano, DMD
General, Implant and Cosmetic Dentistry
Dr. Maria C. Galdiano has been in private practice in Oceanside for over 27 years. She graduated from the University of the Philippines-Manila College of Dentistry and further pursued her education at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) School of Dentistry with Post Graduate training in Advanced Dental Esthetics. She also attended a 2-year Orthodontic Program in Straight Wire Orthodontics and two mini-residencies in Implant Dentistry at the Nobel Biocare Implant Institute and the Ladera Ranch Implant Institute. She is a former faculty member of the University of the Philippines-Manila College of Dentistry from 1983 to 1985.
She is the former president of the San Diego Filipino Dental Association. She loves to go and help international dental missions through the association. Dr. Maria C Galdiano is a member of the prestigious American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, as well as the San Diego County Dental Society.
She loves Endodontics and Cosmetic Dentistry.
Dr. Galdiano is a long time resident of Carlsbad, California. When she isn't creating beautiful smiles, she loves to read, dance, travel, and spend time with her family. She is also a self-confessed foodie.
Dr. Jay Friedman, DDS
Advanced Implant Specialist
Dr. Friedman graduated from the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Dentistry in 1982, and in 1984 received a qualification in Advanced Prosthodontics from the University of Southern California.
In 1994, Dr. Friedman was invited to join the faculty of the Misch International Implant Institute. In 2005, Dr. John Suzuki, a faculty member of the Misch Institute and Associate Dean of Temple University, asked Dr. Friedman to join the faculty of Temple. Dr. Friedman has, and continues to maintain positions at both institutions.
Dr. Friedman has worked and mentored in many private dental practices across the United States, and has placed and/or restored more than 10,000 implants. He is currently licensed in five (5) states: California, New York, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, and Texas, with more being added upon request for on-site procedures.
Dr. Friedman has a passion for teaching and bringing his expertise to other dentists in private practice.
Dr. Erik Balinghasay, DDS, MSD
Endodontist
Dr. Erik Balinghasay is Galdiano Dentistry’s Endodontist. Though he is originally from Los Angeles, it’s in San Diego that he and his family feel most at home. He received his Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree from UCSD in 2012, where he graduated with a major in Microbiology and a minor in Music. From there, he made his way directly to UCLA, where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) Degree from the UCLA School of Dentistry in 2016. During his time at UCLA, he realized his passion for endodontics – the dental specialty of root canals. This passion led him to the University of Washington in Seattle, where he pursued advanced training in endodontics. He received his Endodontic Specialty Training Certificate and Master of Dental Science (MSD) Degree from the UW School of Dentistry in 2018. Finally, in 2018, he was able to return to San Diego where he has been tending to toothaches and tooth infections ever since.
In 2020, Dr. Balinghasay completed his endodontic board certification and became a Board-Certified Endodontist and a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics. Dr. Balinghasay’s career mission is to heal his patients’ toothaches and ensure that they’re happy and comfortable while being cared for.
During his spare time, Dr. Balinghasay can be found fishing, golfing, or spending quality time at home with his family – his wife Carrissa, his dog Wyatt, and his cat Meople.
